What the encyclopedia dosen't tell
you is that the real test of whether
something exists is whether or not it
can be bought and sold. If it has a
price tag it must be real. The soul
has a price tag, but it's not the kind
you can just turn over and look at. Like
very expensive jewellery, you have to
ask. And, of course, if you have to ask,
you probably can't afford it.
There is still a demand for souls, a kind
of metaphysical black-market for those who
have somehow managed to misplace theirs,
or who, due to some congenital deficiency,
were born without one. If you need the cash,
or if you think maybe you were born with
two, or maybe you just don't use yours that
much anymore, you might want to consider
selling yours. Just check the personal ads in
the New York Times, you'll find the Post
Office number to write to. They ask you to
enclose your phone number and promise to call
you directly upon receipt of your application.
This is how many people become famous authors.
